New regular cast member added for Criminal Minds: Evolution

We'll see more of the character Tyler Green in the upcoming season of Criminal Minds: Evolution.

Tyler Green, played by Ryan-James Hatanaka is a former Army intelligence officer who infiltrated the serial killer network set up by Elias Voit (Zach Gilford). This season, the BAU recruits Tyler as a consultant and uses his psychological training for their latest investigation.



Ryan-James Hatanaka (pictured), who played the character last season, has been promoted to regular cast member for season two of the Paramount+ series, which is currently in production.

Hatanaka joins cast members Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, Paget Brewster and Gilford.

Criminal Minds: Evolution is produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios. Erica Messer is showrunner and executive producer. Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw and Mark Gordon also executive produce.

The second season of Criminal Minds Evolution can be seen this year.

Hatanaka previously had a series regular role on Hallmark's When Hope Calls. He played the lead role in the independent film I Can I Will I Did and was the voice of Joseph Pulitzer Jr. in Oren Rudavsky's documentary Pulitzer: Voice of the People. He also appeared in NBC's Chicago PD and The CW's Nancy Drew (2019), receiving critical acclaim for his role as Dr. Evan Wallace in NBC's Nurses (2020).
