Netflix renews One Piece (2023) for a second season

One Piece (2023) returns to Netflix for a second season. The streaming service has renewed the live-action adventure series based on the anime of the same name.

The people behind One Piece (2023) at Tomorrow Studios had revealed that they had scripts for season two ready as soon as the current strikes ended. The series was created by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda.

Starring Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Vincent Regan, Jeff Ward, Morgan Davies, Jacob Romero Gibson and Taz Skylar, the live-action series is set in a world where pirates and marines fight for control of the Blue Sea.

One Piece (2023)

The story follows Monkey D. Luffy (Godoy), a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom for as long as he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, “One Piece”, to become King of the Pirates. But, in order to find the ultimate prize, Luffy needs to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to sail, searching every inch of the vast blue seas, outpacing the Marines, and outwitting dangerous rivals at every turn.

The series’ renewal is unsurprising since it’s been very successful for the streamer. It’s been the most-watched series on Netflix since it debuted on August 31st.

Eiichiro Oda, executive producer of the series and creator of the original 1997 manga, announced the renewal of One Piece via a video on X, which you can watch below.

A start date and information about season two of One Piece (2023) will be released at a later date.
