Production second season of Silo indefinitely interrupted by strikes

Filming on the second season of the Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller Silo has been suspended indefinitely due to the Hollywood strikes.

The series starring Rebecca Ferguson was due to go on hiatus in the UK this week to switch sets, but Deadline has heard that Apple now expects to extend the hiatus until further notice.

Silo

Silo is based on Hugh Howey's dystopian cycle of novels and was shot at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire. The cast includes Tim Robbins and Rashida Jones. AMC Studios produces.

Deadline understands that the third season of Foundation (2021), another sci-fi drama from Apple, is also expected to be impacted by the strikes by actors and writers.

The film adaptation of Isaac Asimov's books with Jared Harris and Lee Pace was shot in Prague, Czech Republic, although Apple has not yet officially confirmed season three. Skydance Television produces.

Quickly becoming Apple's top new drama series, Silo is the latest high-profile victim of the UK strikes.

Deadline revealed last week that Andor season two would not wrap up after actors walked off set.

Apple declined to comment.
