The Big Door Prize canceled by Apple TV+ after two seasons

Chris O'Dowd and the residents of Deerfield are not returning for new adventures.

The Big Door Prize tells the story of a small town that is changed forever when a mysterious machine appears in the shop that promises to reveal the true life potential of every resident.

Apple TV+ has chosen not to renew the series for a third season. The series, which received a second season early in April 2023, comes from David West Read.

The Big Door Prize

Starring O'Dowd as Dusty Hubbard, a seemingly content, fun-loving family man and high school teacher, who watches everyone around him reevaluate their life choices and ambitions - based on the machine's imprints - and is forced to wondering if he is really as happy as he once thought.

While he remains skeptical about the machine, his wife Cass (Gabrielle Dennis) enjoys the dream that there is something bigger out there for her. Like many Deerfield residents, the couple lived a relatively safe, uncomplicated life until the arrival of the Morpho machine. However, that is all about to change as the community is forced to reconcile with their unfulfilled achievements in pursuit of a better future.

Season two of The Big Door Prize ended, like many canceled series, on a cliffhanger.

The series also starred Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Djouliet Amara and Sammy Fourlas.

The Big Door Prize was produced by Skydance Television and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon. Read served as showrunner and executive producer along with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Miky Lee, Young Kyu Kim, Hyun Park, Bill Bost and Sarah Walker.
