Introduced in Sapkowski's novel Baptism of Fire, Regis is a worldly-wise barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who joins Geralt on his journey in season four. Geralt is played by Liam Hemsworth, who takes over the role from Henry Cavill, who left at the end of season three.
None other than multiple Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee Laurence Fishburne (pictured), will star as fan-favorite Regis from the books and games of the hit fantasy series.
Fishburne won his first Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for TriBeCa in 1993. In 1997, he received the statuette for the television film Miss Ever's Boys (as producer) and in 2020 for Outstanding Actor in Short Form Series for #Freerayshawn. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Ike Turner in What's Love Got To Do With It? in 1994.
The actor has appeared in numerous well-known films such as John Singleton's Boyz n the Hood, Just Cause opposite Sean Connery, as Morpheus in The Matrix franchise, Clint Eastwood's Mystic River, Mission: Impossible III opposite Tom Cruise, DC films Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and as The Bowery King in the John Wick franchise.
In television, Fishburne's roles include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Hannibal and Black-ish.
Fishburne was recently seen in John Wick: Chapter 4 and Netflix's The School for Good and Evil. He recently wrapped production on Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis.
After the shocking, continent-changing events that concluded season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri as they navigate the war-ravaged continent and its many demons separately. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire - and finding each other again.
“I am very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wonderful world of The Witcher,” said Fishburne.
In addition to Hemsworth, Fishburne joins fellow actors Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey.
