“It’s official, The Witcher season 4 is in production. But that’s not all, we’re already planning season 5, which will be the final season and bring this epic show to a fitting conclusion. See you on The Continent,” Netflix confirmed.
As has been known for some time, season four will have new lead actor Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt from Henry Cavill who left at the end of season three.
After the shocking, continent-changing events that concluded season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri as they navigate the war-ravaged continent and its many demons separately. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire - and finding each other again.
As previously reported, Laurence Fishburne is joining the upcoming season as Regis, the fan-favorite character from the Witcher books and games. Introduced in Andrzej Sapkowski's novel Baptism of Fire, Regis is a worldly-wise barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who accompanies Geralt on his journey in season four.
Hemsworth and Fishburne join co-stars Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey.
