Action series Warrior (2019) from HBO Max will soon also be available on Netflix

The historical action drama from the maker of Banshee is based on a concept that martial artist Bruce Lee devised and (partially) developed before his death in 1973.

The action drama Warrior (2019), originally from Cinemax and which can now be seen exclusively on HBO Max, will be added to Netflix's offering on Friday, February 16. Multiple seasons of the series will then be made available, completing a total of three seasons.

Warrior (2019)

Warrior (2019) is set in the city of San Francisco at the end of the 19th century, during the violent Tong Wars in Chinatown. The story follows the extremely capable fighter Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), who decides to join the fight. The concept of Warrior (2019) was conceived in the 1970s by Bruce Lee, who died before the project could be made.

This new version was produced by his daughter Shannon Lee. Justin Lin (Fast Five) is also among the producers. Jonathan Tropper (Banshee) was the showrunner. Each season consists of ten episodes.

The cast includes Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Dianne Doan, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Joanna Vanderham, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Langley Kirkwood, Christian McKay, Perry Jung and Joe Taslim.
