Warrior Nun, starring Alba Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner, Tristán Ulloa, Thekla Reuten, Sylvia De Fanti and William Miller, is based on Ben Dunn's comic novel. The supernatural series follows a young woman who wakes up and fights demons as part of a secret organization.
The drama series was canceled on Netflix last December after two seasons. In June, creator and showrunner Simon Barry revealed that the series was being revived, but he didn't reveal any details.
English announced the movie news on the series' new website:
"The story of the Warrior Nun continues. First of all I want to thank all loyal fans. It is because of you and your incredible energy that we continue to make these stories. You make it all worth it. So thank you very much for your continued support.
I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of feature films. Again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.
One thing we need to discuss is the Hollywood actors' and writers' strikes. And that is why we cannot make any announcements in that area today. Some may ask, "Does this perhaps mean that a Warrior Nun universe will be launched, which can grow into movies and television series that follow characters we've seen before? The answer to that question is yes. And there will be in the future more details to follow.
